Car makers seem to have shifted their focus back on small cars. Ford is said to be in the making of a hatchback version of its famous sedan Ford Fiesta. The reports have for long pervaded the auto industry and now the test mules and images of the Ford Fiesta hatchback that have flooded the industry. With the Fiesta hatchback launch in India, industry expects that the car buyers will be able to have the sedan feel inside the hatch. The Ford Fiesta hatch is expected to be launched next year but the spotting of a test mule recently suggests that it could be sooner.

The Fiesta based hatchback by Ford is based on the Fiesta ST concept that first appeared publicly at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Characteristic touches Fiesta ST concept design are significant on the grille, headlamps and the prominent use of LED technology. Earlier it was believed that the new Ford hatchback will be based on Ford Evos concept. The Ford’s new hatchback will be sporting a 1L Ecoboost engine in all probability and the power output could be around 100 to 125PS. As per reports, the new Ford Fiesta is also undergoing changes and the a preview of it could be seen at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show to be held in March or at the Frankfurt Motor Show scheduled in the other half of 2012.

The Fiesta hatchback is expected to be welcomed in India well and it is hoped that it will be priced lower than Ford Figo hatchback which is doing exceptionally well in India. The addition of a new hatchback to the present fleet of Ford cars in India is seen as worth and industry experts believed that if priced attractively, people will be buying Ford Fiesta hatchback in exceptionally good numbers.
