Here’s an interesting one for you. Tata Tigor is going to be positioned below the Tata Zest and there are no direct rivals to this Indigo eCS-replacement, the Tigor is open for bookings at a token amount of Rs. 5,000 at all Tata dealerships across the country.
The Tigor is the compact sedan sibling of the Tiago hatchback, scheduled to launch on March 29, 2017 in India with two engine options – a 1.2-litre 3-cyl Revotron petrol having 85 PS/114 Nm and 1.05-litre 3-cyl Revotorq diesel engine churning-out 70 PS/140 Nm. Both engines paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an AMT will be launched at a later stage.
Tata Motors is calling the Tigor a ‘Styleback’. The Tigor attempts to repeat the success of Tata Tiago and can be seen as an attempt by Tata to take over as a family car brand apart from its commercial offerings. It is the third vehicle to feature Tata’s IMPACT design philosophy after the Tiago and the Hexa. The biggest attraction point for the Tigor is the coupé-like manner the roof flows into the tail.
The top-spec variant gets Tata Motor’s ConnectNext infotainment system developed by Harman which has AUX, USB, SD Card and Bluetooth connectivity support along with voice command system that can also be operated through the steering-mounted controls. It comes connected to an 8-speaker setup inside the car and offers one of the best audio experience in its segment.
