Tata Tigor India’s 1st Styleback – official specifications released

Tata Motors is readying their latest compact sedan, called Tata Tigor for commercial launch. Recently they conducted a media event in Delhi and released its specifications.

Details about the Tata Tigor’s specifications and dimensions have now been officially released.

The Tigor will be available with 1.2-litre Revotron 3 cyl petrol engine develops 84 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque @ 3,500 rpm, and 1.05-litre Revotorq 3 cyl mill produces 69 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm @ 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both engines coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an AMT option is expected at a later stage. Both petrol and diesel versions get two driving modes – Eco and City.

Also revealed officially is the sub-4m compact sedan’s dimensions. Measuring 3,992 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width and 1,537 mm in height, it has a wheelbase measuring 2,450 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm. The Tigor will boast a boot capacity of 419 litres. The petrol version weighs 1,062 kg, while the diesel tips the scales at 1,130 kg. The fuel-tank has a capacity of 35 litres in both the models.

Although the dashboard layout is borrowed from the Tiago hatchback, the Tigor will get some additional features.

Six exterior colours will be available – Sunburst Orange, Pearlescent White, Platinum Silver, Striker Blue, Espresso Brown and Berry Red. Interestingly, the Tigor petrol gets 15-inch alloy wheels shod with 175/60 profile tubeless tyres, while the diesel variants gets smaller 14-inch alloy wheels with 175/65 profile tubeless tyres.

The highlighted equipment for the range-topping XZ include a new touchscreen infotainment system with a rear camera, voice recognition, video & image playback and ConnectNext app suit support. This system will be mated to 4-speaker & 4-tweeter setup. Furthermore gets automatic climate control system and a rear center armrest with integrated cup holders. Tata claims to have offered 24 storage & utility spaces across the cabin.

Tata Tigor is scheduled for official launch in India on March 29, 2017.
