TVS motors once being a tough competitor to other motor cycle companies in the Indian market is now struggling to obtain the required decent sales due to the failure of updating their existing line up as well as not introducing new models which are of great demand currently in the sales market. In order to overcome this, TVS Motor Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Venu Srinivasan gave a fore look of their revival by stating “Every quarter from now, you can expect there will be a new bike from TVS”.
TVS has already launched their flagship 110cc new automatic scooter ‘Jupiter’ recently and as per the reports from Mr. Srinivasan the company would start updating their existing line up as well as also introduce new models into the Indian market. TVS also expects its market share to increase to 16% in the scooter segment from the existing 13.5% by next year.
TVS would start with the ‘Scooty Zest’ which will be an upgraded version of their popular TVS Scooty in 2014. The upcoming Scooty Zest would be featured with refreshed styling and the latest body balance technology already equipped in TVS Wego and Jupiter. Mr. Srinivasan also reported that “the sales of their earlier launched 125 cc Phoenix have touched 10,000 units” but there were no reports on either the developments in their alliance with BMW or the higher displacement Apache.
