Hyundai India has launched its New 2017 Grand i10, which now receives styling changes in line with its European sibling, along with getting more equipment and a new diesel engine.

Visual changes on the Swift-rival include a hexagonal front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, new fog lamp enclosures which house air curtains and LED DRLs. Rear wiper, side body moulding, roof rails and boot integrated spoiler are available on the higher variants while diamond cut alloy wheels and full wheel covers are available across different variants.
Moving inside, the new Grand i10 now comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity. The unit supports navigation and voice recognition. Other features on offer with the facelift include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, rear defogger, cooled glove box.

The biggest change on the Grand i10 is the introduction of a new diesel engine. The old 71hp 1.1-litre diesel makes way for a new 1.2-litre powerplant that develops a meatier 75hp and 171Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai claims that the new Grand i10 diesel can extract a fuel economy of 24.95 KMPL.
However, the petrol variants are powered by the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Kappa VTVT petrol engine that generates 82 BHP and 114 Nm of torque but uses low friction bearings, Alternator Management System (AMS) and improved engine oil viscosity levels, resulting in the mileage increasing by 4.6%. This results in increase fuel efficiency of 19.77 KMPL, compared to 18.9 KMPL in outgoing model.
The rear-end gets a dual tone bumper lending a bold & sporty appeal, along with aesthetically incorporated reflectors.
The petrol motor is offered with two transmission options: a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT. As far as safety is concerned, the top-spec 2017 Grand i10 is equipped with rear parking camera and sensors, dual airbags and ABS, while a driver side airbag is standard on all trims of the new model.
