The Japanese carmaker will introduce the Land Cruiser LC200 with a BS6-compliant engine in India, according to Naveen Soni, senior vice president, sales & service, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The Land Cruiser LC200 was discontinued earlier this-year, with BS6 pollution standards set to come into effect. The SUV was offered with a diesel engine with 4.5-litre V8, which produced 261 BHP and 650 Nm. It was coupled to an automatic 6-speed transmission and a four-wheel drive system.
Toyota possibly would carry the Land Cruiser’s facelift version to India. The SUV could be powered by a turbocharged 6-cylinder petrol engine instead of a V8.
The Land Cruiser also gets a few cosmetic changes beside the new engine. These include a new grille, headlamps and a revised bumper at the front.
