2018 Audi Q5 launched in India: Priced starts from Rs. 53.25 lakh

Audi India has launched the second-generation Q5 in two variants – Technology and Premium Plus priced at Rs. 53.25 lakh and Rs. 57.60 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.

The new Audi Q5 is based on the MLB Evo platform. With the all-wheel drive quattro system, a highly efficient engine, a suspension with damper control and a comprehensive line-up of infotainment systems, the second-gen Q5 proves to be the perfect vehicle in its segment. Measuring 4663 mm in length, 1893 mm in wide, 1659 mm tall, and has wheelbase is 2,819 mm. The kerb weight of the SUV is 1,990 kg and fuel tank of 70 litres.

All-new Audi Q5 features a single-frame chrome grille flanked by LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. In side profile, the overall silhouette is reminiscent of the more expensive Audi Q7. The rear features wraparound LED tail lights and dynamic turn signals. The rear bumper has been redesigned and now features a silver scuff plate and integrated twin-chrome exhaust tips. It also gets with 18-inch alloy wheels and panoramic sunroof.

Inside, the new Q5 gets a redesigned dual-tone dashboard with an 8.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment screen in the centre. It features a three-spoke, multi-functional steering wheel with chrome trim and Audi Virtual Cockpit – a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Audi’s MMI touchpad has been placed in between the front seats. The car comes with navigation, 3-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, electric seats with memory function for driver seat along with 4-way lumbar support and three-way split rear seat with adjustable seat back angle. It also has a power tailgate.

Powering the 2018 Q5 is a 1968 cc 4-cyl diesel engine that develops 188 BHP @ 3,800-4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive system. Drivers can choose from 5 driving modes, which comes with a new off-road mode. It sprints from 0-100 KMPH in 7.9 seconds and has top speed of 218 KMPH. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency is 17.01 KMPL.

Audi promises to have improved the drive experience with the help of a revised power steering, adaptive suspension and Audi Drive Select system. In terms of safety features, the Q5 comes with 8 airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and front and rear parking sensors.
