Confirmed: New 2017 Audi Q5 to launch in India next-month

Audi is set to roll out the new generation of its SUV, the Q5 in India. Launch is scheduled to take place in January-2018. The car has been spotted many a time undergoing testing in the past.

Audi will give the new Q5 a newly worked out exterior and interior changes. Its front end will be based on the flexible MLB Evo platform, which consists of a Chrome grille and Matrix headlamps with dynamic turn indicator. On weight, the new Q5 much lighter than its predecessor.

This comes despite the new Q5 having a larger wheel base and height. Engines included 2.0-litre Diesel engine giving 190 bhp of power along with a 2.0-litre petrol engine came to 52 bhp of power. Both Indians are made it to 8-speed gearbox.

It’s sports Audi’s virtual cockpit design, dominated by a 18.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the interior. Other features include wireless charging zone, ambient lighting and climate control. Expected to be praised around Rs.40-50 lakhs.

Going by its past in India, it seems the new Q5 will also entice buyers looking for a good luxury SUV. The existing Q5 has carved a niche for itself in the Indian market till now, so it will be a challenge for Audi to replace a good product. Nevertheless come are the new Q5, once launched will Rival the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3 and a new Volvo XC60.
