The 2016 Auto Expo was in many ways, a game changer for the Indian Automotive Industry. The number of exhibitors had grown and there were about 80 new launches/reveals at the biennial event.
The 2016 edition of the show brought new vehicles to the Indian market, which enthusiasts and prospective buyers alike had been waiting for a long time.
The Iconic Jeep brand marked it’s official entry into the Indian market, Mahindra went all out to showcase their best two wheelers, MUV’s, SUVs, electric vehicles and commercial vehicles as well, Toyota India revealed the new Innova Crysta to continue their legacy, Honda India revealed their game changer BR-V, BMW India revealed the new X1 and 7-series, Audi India revealed the new R8, Mercedes-Benz India revealed the S-500 coupe, Jaguar Land Rover India launched the new XE, Renault gave us the new Duster with an AMT gearbox, and the list just goes on and on!
Amidst all the new launches and new brands coming to the Indian market, there were quite a few prominent ones that were missing, like Bajaj Auto, KTM motorcycles, Harley Davidson, Volvo India etc.
This Auto Expo gave us so many new products from different brands that, it was quite a difficult task to cover all the launches single-handedly, but the pleasure of looking at the Indian automotive market growing so quickly and also the zeal to give our readers the best coverage of the Expo kept us going, Snapping approximately 3500 pictures in just four days and getting all the necessary information from the manufacturers to bring to our esteemed readers.
I must say that the organizers of the event worked wonderfully and flawlessly.
Kudos to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and all the manufacturers and organizers involved in this wonderful event of the Indian Automotive Industry.
