Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, today announced the launch of brand ‘Hero’ and its range of two-wheelers in Guatemala City, El Salvador and Honduras, marking the iconic Indian brand’s first foray into new international markets.
Hero MotoCorp also announced a partnership with the reputed Indy Motos Group of Guatemala to bring its two-wheelers to these markets. Under the alliance, Indy Motos has been appointed as the authorized distributor of Hero MotoCorp range of two-wheelers in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. These products will be distributed through a network of outlets spread across these countries, with more new outlets to be added subsequently.
Mr. Pawan Munjal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, launched brand ‘Hero’ here in the presence of Mr. Danello Siekavizza, Director, IndyMotos.
Speaking at the glittering ceremony, Mr. Munjal said, “This launch is a significant milestone for us considering this is the first of the new international markets where we are starting our operations. It is indicative of the significant role that markets in Central America and Latin America will play in our global expansion plans. It gives me immense pleasure to announce Indy Motos as our partner for Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. I am sure that their rich experience in this market and knowledge of the local customer will go a long way towards further strengthening our business here.”

The range of Hero two-wheelers being launched in these markets include successful brands across categories – Hunk, Karizma, Glamour, HF Dawn, Splendor NXG, Super Splendor and Achiever.
Highlighting the brand building initiatives that Hero MotoCorp will undertake in the local market, Mr. Munjal also presented a preview of the iconic Hero anthem “Hum Main Hai Hero” in Spanish.
Hero MotoCorp will also soon commence its operations in other new international markets in Latin & Central America and Africa in order to reach the stated objective of 10 per cent of its total volumes from international business in the next four to five years. Hero MotoCorp currently exports to few countries, including Colombia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
