The German car manufacturer, Porsche another subsidiary of Volkswagen AG has launched the Cayenne facelift in India starting at a price of Rs 1.02 crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The premium SUV is available in 4 variants in India – Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S Diesel, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo.

The 2015 Cayenne boasts a larger front-grille, redesigned bumper incorporating more blades in the air ducts for better cooling, revised front wings, as-well-as grown-up hood, which provides the vehicle a bolder stance. While the Diesel and S Diesel versions gets Bi-xenon headlights four-point LED Daytime running lamps as standard, the Turbo model comes equipped with LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS).
Furthermore, change at the rear includes new angular tail-lamps, updated tailgate and exhaust pipes installed redesigned bumper. Staying true to Porsche’s DNA the design engineers have given the Cayenne an even sharper design with precise lines and purposefully placed light refracting edges.
On the inside, there a 918 Spyder-inspired multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles and four-zone automatic climate control. Standard features like the air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Entry and Drive, four-zone auto climate control and panorama sunroof are available. The rear seating system is even more comfortable, with optional seat ventilation now available for the first time.
The 2015 Porsche Cayenne gets subtle design tweaks.
The Cayenne Diesel comes with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that puts out 242 bhp @ 3800-4400 rpm and 550 Nm of torque @ 1750-2750 rpm. Porsche claims a 0-100 kph time of 7.6 seconds and a top speed 218 kph for the car.
The Cayenne S Diesel is powered by a 4.2-litre, V8 diesel producing 380 bhp @ 3750 rpm, 850 Nm of torque @ 2000-2750 rpm. The car has a claimed 0-100 kph time of 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 252 kph.
At the rear, the taillights are visibly sharper.
The Cayenne S uses a 3.6-litre, bi-turbo V6 petrol that develops 414 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 550 Nm @ 1350-4500 rpm – that’s a gain of 20 bhp and 50 Nm over the previous model. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission. The claimed 0-100 kph time for the Cayenne S is 5.5 seconds and top speed is 259 kph.
The range-topping Cayenne Turbo gets a 4.8-litre, bi-turbo V8 petrol engine that is capable of producing 513 bhp@ 6000 rpm and 750 Nm pf torque @ 2250-4000 rpm. The 0-100 kph sprint is done in a claimed 4.5 seconds while the top speed is 279 kph.
As the moment, Porsche has introduced only four variants. The Turbo S, which is the most powerful of the Cayenne variants, could be introduced sometime later. Once launched, it’ll compete directly with SUVs from the Mercedes AMG wing.
