The car maker has launched three variants of the SUV and all these belong to the BS3 norms. Force Motors calls their new SUV Gurkha as EOV – Extreme Off-roader Vehicle and its based on the legendary Mercedes Benz Gelandewagen (G-Wagen) which is built under the license from Daimler. The Gurkha SUV though not new to India is the second generation of it after it was discontinued by the car maker 3-years ago. The Gurkha is designed on the lines of the famed Mercedes G-wagon with an updated front grille, new headlamps and bumpers. To aid its off-roading abilities are three locking differentials and 210mm ground clearance. The features offered on the new Gurkha include Fog lamps, refreshed dashboard and steering wheel, revamped head lights and various others. The best part of the SUV like the Force One is that it is powered by a highly dependable 2.6 -litre Mercedes Benz sourced diesel engine. This means that the Gurkha will have an India body with German heart. Not only the 81 bhp motor under the hood of Gurkha will make it quite attractive in the segment and will give it an upper hand as compared to Mahindra Thar. The all-new Gurkha which will compete against the Mahindra Thar, only has BSIII compliant versions at the moment, however we might see the BS IV compatible version by the last quarter of 2013.   Prices of 2013 Force Gurkha (Ex-showroom, Delhi) - Force Gurkha Soft Top BS3 2WD -  Rs. 6.25 lakh Force Gurkha Soft Top BS3 4WD -  Rs. 8.35 lakh Force Gurkha Hard Top BS3 4WD -  Rs. 8.50 lakh   Check out more pictures below the jump.   Also see - Force Motors to launch Force One and Gurkha SUV today      Image Credit - Force One (on Facebook)
