KTM Duke 790 Adventure, India launch in March-2021

News has come that KTM are currently readying the launch of what will be their upcoming product for our market, the Duke 790 Adventure. It is reported that the company has started testing the motorcycle in Pune and its development could be followed soon after. It is also revealed that KTM might be bringing the Duke 790 Adventure to India by March 2021.

The Duke 790 was first spotted during the India Bike Week 2019, which was held in December last year. In the same event, KTM also introduced the Duke 390 Adventure, leading to speculations that its elder sibling could be on its way soon. KTM currently sell the Duke 790 here and its Adventure version could share a lot of similarities with it by the time it gets launched.

Firstly, it will mechanically be sharing the 799cc, parallel-twin motor, which was recently updated to the BS-VI emission norms. This motor does make an impressive 94 BHP of power alongside its 88 Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox which has a slip and assist clutch in order to achieve smoother gear shifts.

The Duke 790 Adventure receives the convenience of three ride modes, namely Street, Rain and Off-road. There is also an option of a Rally mode as offered on the Duke 790. It will receive features such as a Bosch 9.1 MP system handling cornering and off-road ABS, full LED lighting with DRL’s and a coloured TFT display to name a few.

The Duke 790 Adventure will be built on a Tubular Chromium-molybdenum steel frame, which is claimed to utilize its engine as a stress member. It could be priced higher than the Duke 790, which retails at Rs.8.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). When launched, the 790 Adventure will be taking on the new Triumph Tiger 900, which again is in its final stages of production and set for a launch soon.
