Already news about Yamaha developing a quarter liter bike has already been available over the cyber space from November last year. Yamaha R125 was unveiled at the MCN London Motorcycle show earlier this February. Yamaha India has imported one unit of the R125 motorcycle to the sub-continent exclusively for R&D purpose.
The Yamaha R125 was refreshed this-year is heavily inspired by the Yamaha R6.
As per the reports obtained, Yamaha has actually cancelled its plans to launch R125 in the Indian market because of its high price tag, as it was estimated to be close to INR 2.77 lakhs. With price being the major factor, Yamaha R125 powered with 124.77 cc engine will be much costlier than the existing R15 because of which Yamaha has actually imported one unit of R125 from France in order to take cues for the upcoming R15 version 3.0.
However Yamaha’s R125 would gain popularity in Europe where there are great demand for 125cc sports bike rather than Indian market where 125 cc motorcycles are only used for commuting. Upcoming R15 version 3.0 would feature upside down forks (KYB make) and an all new digital instrument cluster featured in the R125.
