SPYSHOTS: Tata Tigor snapped with production badges

A couple weeks ago, Tata Motors had officially announced that the Tiago-based compact sedan codenamed ‘Kite5’ will be christened as Tata Tigor.

This is for the first time that the Tigor is caught wearing a new moniker badge.

Now 2 units of the upcoming compact sedan – one Platinum Silver and one Sunburst Orange have been snapped with the new ‘Tigor’ badges on the left side of the boot lid, while the trim-level badge is seen attached on the right side like the Tiago.

The Tigor will be Tata’s third car based on the new IMPACT design philosophy. While the front fascia will largely be inspired from the Tiago, the side will get a notchback-like silhouette, with the roof line sloping to meet the boot lid for which the company calls it a ‘Styleback’.

The top-spec Tata Tigor diesel comes with 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The report here also reveal that the top-end diesel model of the Tigor will get new diamond cut alloys as seen on the above spy shots. While the top-end petrol trim will get the same alloys that are found on the Tiago XZ.

Just as a recap, the Tata Tigor is available with engine options identical to that of the Tiago. These include a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder diesel and a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol. Both the motors are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Called Tata Tigor, it will be launched by the end of next-month (March-2017).
