Tata Movus MUV launched at Rs. 6.99 lakh

Home-grown car manufacturer, Tata Motors yesterday launched the Movus MUV in India at a price of Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Movus is a stripped down version of the Sumo Grande and has been positioned as an entry-level MUV. Available in two variants – CX and LX, and 3-seating options 7, 8 and 9, with front-facing, side-facing and captain seats.

The Movus is powered by a tried and tested 2.2-litre VARICOR engine from the Tata stable. The engine is already doing duty in Grande and in Safari & Aria range (though in different state of tune). MUV will offer plenty of space, higher fuel efficiency and easy city maneuvering and driveability. The company says it can deliver 15.15 kpl and has an engine warranty of 3 years or 1,50,000 km. The vehicle has a new rack and pinion steering and a self-adjusting clutch for improved life.

The re-branded Sumo Grande has a ground clearance of 180 mm, wheelbase of 2,550 mm and a turning circle of 5.35 metres. Tata Motors is offering the Movus in two colours – Porcelain White and Meteor Silver.
