Audi India today launched the updated 2013 Q5 SUV, at a starting price of Rs 43.16 lakhs (ex-showroom price). While the refreshed Q5 might look similar to the outgoing car to an unknowing eye, the difference lies in headlamps which now come with a new LED daytime light. The SUV made its global debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, where it was shown for the first time.
The company has shown some sympathy in bringing the updated car to our market at the earliest. We hope this step taken by Audi might not go in vain and help the company to replace BMW from the top of the Indian premium car market. The 2013 Q5 SUV is slowly inching ahead towards the numero uno position in India.
Coming back to the refreshed Q5, the new additions in the SUV comprise of a upgraded hexagonal grille, new fog lamps, all new headlamps along with surround day time lamps and updated tail lamps, a new rear diffuser at the back, most of the makeover has been done on the exteriors of the SUV.
Moderate tweaks have been given to the interiors of the new Audi Q5 SUV. The changes include a new steering wheel, new trimmings around the cabin space and a reworked multi-media interface. Few internet based systems are also present in the multi-media system.
Other than the cosmetic changes to the exterior, the most significant change the Audi Q5 has received is the improved power output offered by the existing 3-litre V6 diesel engine. It now returns a slightly higher power output of 272bhp, which means improvement of 36bhp. The car has also been made available in two other engine options, 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel.
Addressing to all the Audi fans out there on twitter, company’s India head, Michael Perschke tweets, “Hey, Audi fans, I’m proud to announce – The new Audi Q5 is now available at your nearest Audi dealer for Rs. 43,16,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).”
