There is news that Suzuki is silently readying a 300cc sports bike which will be launched in the country sometime in 2019. The Japanese company recently filed a patent, with rumors suggesting that it may be a 300cc motorcycle. Suzuki, at present, already has a 250cc bike in its stable, that being the GSX-R250.
Patent images of the Suzuki GSX-R300 have now leaked on the internet now.
The GSX-R250 was launched last-year and has not yet lived up to its hype when launched. This is, of course, because of the intense competition present in the 250cc segment. Now, more manufacturers are looking to tap into the 250cc motorcycle segment, which would make the job harder for Suzuki.
A detailed blueprint of the patent has arisen. This shows a new parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, Dual Over Head Camshaft (DOHC) engine mounted in between a tubular frame. Most of the components on the bike may be shared with the GSX-R150, sold in international markets.
Patent images of the Suzuki GSX-S300 (naked roadster) were leaked online a month back.
We can also see the bike featuring upside down front forks and a rear monoshock. This also features disc brakes both in the front and at the rear. The parallel-twin, 300cc sports bike will have a sporty seating position as shown in the blueprint.
Suzuki will also consider launching a naked version of the GSX-R300, likely to be called the GSX-S300. Both are expected to be launched together at the 2018 EICMA. The GSX-R300 will rival the likes of the Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM Duke 390 and the Benelli TNT300 when launched here.
