Already news about Yamaha developing a quarter liter bike has already been available over the cyber space from November-2013. As already read by our dear readers in our previous posts in the month of March-2014 at BharathAutos, Yamaha had planned to launch the third big upgrade for its R15 in month of April last year but however due to some reason Yamaha has delayed its launch and is now rumored to be working on this particular upgrade.

As per the reports obtained, Yamaha India has also imported YZF-R125 for R&D purpose in order to obtain the styling cues and specifications for the upcoming YZF-R15 V3.0. Details of the import is “YZF-R125 YAMAHA MOTORCYCLE ENG NO.E3J4E004079 FRAME NO.VG5RE111000004019, 124.7CC (R&D PURPOSE ONLY NOT FOR RETAIL SALE)”.
Yamaha’s YZF-R15 V3.0 is expected to get some minor cosmetic upgrades along with some minor performance tweaks to the engine. Coming to the technical specifications, the upcoming YZF-R15 V3.0 is expected to get a new ECU along with some minor increase in power and torque figures than the second generation YZF-R15.
