Nissan, the Japanese car maker in India recently unveiled the all new Evalia van which is also known as NV200 in some international market at the Auto Expo Delhi, 2012. The Evalia is expected to be launched in August. Now Motor Vikatan on FB page has posted a spy picture of the Nissan Evalia MPV from their reader Raja Kumar. With the arrival of Evalia on Indian shores, Nissan would to strengthen itself in the MPV segment as well.
The award winning Evalia is a seven seater family car with sliding doors and three forward facing seat rows. This Urban-Class Utility Vehicle will compete with the Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Chevrolet Tavera. Armed with power steering intelligent key options, other innovative and novel features, reverse camera, versatile interior with multi-use functionality, it boasts best in class fuel economy.
Nissan Evalia will be powered by a well proven 1.5 liter K9K engine which also powers the Micra, Sunny, Pulse and the upcoming Duster SUV. This engine is developed by the French automobile unit and Nissan’s global partner, Renault S.A, which will have outstanding power of either 85 bhp with 200 Nm torque or might have peak power of 105 bhp with 240 Nm torque.
The Nissan Evalia will be designed in sync with Indian market requirements and will target soon to be launched Maruti Ertiga MPV. This MPV is expected to be produced at the Oragadam production facility near Chennai and is projected to come in the price tag range of Rs. 7 – 9 lakhs.
