India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is giving a mid-life facelift for its entire range of model. Recently a folk at Rushlane.com has published a firstever spy pictures of 2013 SX4 facelift which was caught testing totally camouflaged in Gujarat. In India, the SX4 has been launched wayback in 2007 and since then no major updates seen in all this 5 years.

Now just like other Maruti car models, this one too needs an all-round revamping to appeal to Indian audience once again. From the spy pictures, it appears that the facelifted SX4 that will be launched in India is inspired by the updated Suzuki SX4 from China. The changes made to the new SX4 are cosmetic in nature and will include a refreshed front-end with a new grille, bumper and headlight designs. And the rear is expected to get minor styling tweaks as well.

Also the interiors will be spruced up and sources reveal that the top-end variants will come with a standard navigation system. However, the engine specifications remain the same, as now offered in petrol, diesel & CNG and it is the only car in C-segment offering 3 alternative fuel option. Engine options include a 1.3-litre Fiat multijet diesel engine offering 90 bhp and 200 Nm while petrol and CNG options include a 1.6-litre. All these models with any of these fuel engines get a five speed manual transmission as standard while the petrol engine variant also comes with an option of a 4 speed automatic gearbox.

The company believes that the 2013 SX4 facelift will enable the mid-size sedan to help in difficult times before the next-generation car based on the S-Cross concept arrives sometime in 2014.
