There are reports and pictures all over the internet about the next-gen Ford Ka/Figo sedan, and Ford had even officially released an image of the Ka concept. Now, since it is closer to production than ever, the final road going Ka’s pictures have been made available on the internet. Ford Brazil’s official Facebook page had posted this picture of the Ka, which at first seems like it’s just an air-brushed image of the Ka concept, but the detailing is on a different level altogether.
The original concept had full LED headlamps, whereas the sketch has reflector type halogen lamps which is more production ready. The sketch even has spider-web design wheels, the kind of wheels which can already be seen on the Ford EcoSport which means it’s even more production ready as the wheels which were on the concept don’t have to be manufactured separately. Instead of the chrome slats grille which was found on the concept, the sketch now show’s honeycomb mesh type grille and the fog lamps are now encircled with a chrome housing. All these are tell-tale signs of a production ready vehicle, and it now looks like Ford is now ready to officially launch the vehicle.
The development of the Ka was handled by Ford’s Brazilian division, and it was designed by Ehab Kaoud, the same person who designed the Ford EcoSport and the EcoSport’s success shows that the world likes his designs. The Figo Sedan/Ka too is bound to be a huge success for Ford, worldwide. The Ka is expected to be launched with a 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre TDCi turbo-diesel as engine options and Ford has said that this car would have best in class fuel-efficiency as well.
Features include best in class HVAC, enough room for five passengers, ABS, airbags etc. the Ka has been confirmed for launch in the Brazilian market in 2014, and will be launched in India in 2015.
