All new 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class has been caught testing for the first time in India. Thanks to AutoCarIndia reader Nishant Hingne for sharing the pictures. The 2013 GL-Class (codename: X166) is already launched in some markets around the world. According to some trusted sources, Mercedes plans to launch the 2013 GL-Class in March-2013 as a CBU first and later as a CKD unit by end-2013.
From the images, the test-car seems to carry AMG body kit that features a 21-inch alloy wheels, 9-inch perforated disc brakes, custom bumpers designed by AMG and more muscular wheel arches and plenty of other distinctions. We expect, the interior is fitted with sporty upgrades like a new steering wheel, AMG sport seats and leather-wrapped everything.
In India, the GL-Class is likely to be available only with the diesel engine option. The GL 350 CDI powered by a 2987cc CRDI engine that delivers 255bhp and 632Nm, and is driven via a 7-speed G-Tronic automatic gearbox. The GL is based on ML-class which is the same monocoque as the R-Class MPV. The SUV features AIRMATIC suspension the height of the air suspension can be altered in three different stages and increased by110mm.
In the SUV world, the new Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is setting new standards in comfort, dynamics, safety, elegance and efficiency and with this spectrum it is regarded as the S-Class among off-road vehicles.
