Mahindra Reva electric car was the first ever electric car to have been introduced in Indian car market. The Revai had been the recipient of numerous awards including the 2010 Green car award, bestowed by CNBC and TV18. The company is now looking forward to overcome the flaws of the REVAi by launching the next generation REVA NXR in India. The all electric REVA NXR will be officially unveiled at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo in Delhi next year.
Mahindra Reva NXR EV reaches a top speed of 104 kmph while providing a range of 160 km on a single charge. The NXR can text you with crucial information such as Time-to-full-change, pre-heat or pre-cool the car, mail you a report on your driving habits or even unlocking the door as you approach. It also features a revolutionary technology that address range anxiety– Revive, a remotely activated reserve charge will get you going, even when you’ve seemingly out of charge.
The Reva NXR is likely to be equipped with many advanced features like, keyless operation, digital display, Dual charge ports and SMS alerts. It is likely to be powered with a new lithium-ion battery. The Reva NXR will not only be bigger and roomier, but is likely to come with a better finish of the interiors.
The Mahindra Reva has been known for its extremely easy parking due to its compact size and enables easy manoeuvring on the Indian roads. Expect Mahindra Reva to price their new electric car in the range of Rs 4 to 5 lakh, which might turn out to be the game changer in the hatchback segment in India.
