More on Maruti’s mid-size premium sedan, the NEXA-based Ciaz has been leaked, courtesy of Team-BHP, which reveals the updated variant lineup.
Last month, we brought you the spyshots of a Maruti Ciaz dropping ‘Maruti Suzuki’ lettering and variant badges snapped the dealer stockyard. Now the company has already started dispatching the NEXA-based Ciaz to its premium range of dealerships. The report from TheAutomotiveIndia forum also hints that there might be some changes in it, this might include SOFIX mounts for child seats, as we reported earlier.
Once the Ciaz is shifted to the NEXA chain sometime next-month, it will be available in a total of 5 variants and will adopt the Baleno’s grade hierarchy: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Exclusive to the Ciaz is a new ‘S’ grade variant, which is likely to be the current Ciaz RS with the sportier body kit.
All the variants will be offered in a petrol MT or diesel MT configuration, while customers opting for the Ciaz petrol AT will be offered in 3 variants – Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims. Another variant in the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is called Taxi, aimed at the commercial vehicle segment. No mechanical changes have been made to the upcoming Ciaz facelift.
