Renault Scala sedan scheduled to launch on 7th September

Renault Scala sedan

As we reported last week that Renault India’s new sedan, Scala will be launching on the first week of September. Now the exact launch date has been officially released by the company on the 7th of September. The Renault Scala is essentially a reworked Nissan Sunny with just two differences a inclusive of redesigned fascias and an optional CVT automatic gearbox available with a petrol engine.

Scala sedan will be Renault’s entry into C-segment in the Indian auto industry. However, the pricing of the Scala has not been revealed as of now. But we believe that Renault has burnt its hands with the Pulse’s pricing and now the company will rectify its mistake. The Scala’s pricing will commence at the same price like the Sunny, but sources suggest that top-end model will be slightly expensive about Rs.30,000 to Rs.50,000 over and above that of Nissan Sunny.

Under the hood, it will be offered both in petrol and diesel options. Where the petrol variants are concerned, the XH2 engine will be a 1.5 liter generating 99 PS and 134 Nm torque with a mileage of 16.95 kmpl. Its diesel counterpart will possess a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine with 86 PS and 200 Nm torque with a mileage 21.54 kmpl. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
