The French carmaker Renault is all-set to launch Renault Scala, the platform sharing car with Nissan’s Sunny in first-week of September, 2012. Renault India has launched a media presentation for the upcoming Renault Scala sedan in north India. Here are the clear images of Renault Scala, after we brought you other clear images of the Scala snapped by AutoCarIndia.
It is basically ‘Sunny’ with new bumpers, front grille and Renault logo. It is quite surprising that Renault India is not launching a car which is actually made by the company or for which Renault is known for. But one thing is admirable that the designers at Renault are very expert in giving new look to the cars. Renault Pulse looks much better in comparison to the Nissan Micra. Same is the case with upcoming Renault Scala; it looks much bigger and better when compared to the Nissan Sunny.
Like Nissan Sunny, the Scala too will be available in petrol and diesel. The petrol variant will be powered by 1498cc, 4 Cylinder engine. It generates maximum power of 97 Bhp at 6000 rpm with maximum torque of 134 Nm at 4000 rpm. The diesel Scala will be powered by 1461cc, 4 cylinder engine. It develops maximum power of 84.8 Bhp at 3750 rpm with maximum torque of 200 Nm at 2000 rpm. Hence we can expect same acceleration and mileage figures of Sunny from Renault Scala. The Scala petrol will also be sold with a CVT option.
Renault Scala will be soon available for booking at all 55 Renault dealerships across India. As far as safety features are concerned, it is equipped with advanced safety features such as Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Engine Immobilizer and Airbags. The feature list is the same as the Nissan Sunny and but the Renault Scala commands a premium of Rs. 50,000 more than each equivalent variant of Sunny.
