The new Renault Lodgy is now open for booking in India. Renault dealership across India have started accept bookings for its Lodgy MPV. The booking amount is Rs. 50,000 and sadly, this amount is not fully refundable.
The Lodgy features a boxy body and is available as a 7- or 8-seater.
The Lodgy MPV is scheduled to launch sometime next-month (April-2015). It will come with two seating configurations – 7 and 8 seats. The 7-seater model gets captain seats for the middle row while the 8-seater gets a conventional bench. Once launched, the Lodgy will directly compete with the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Enjoy, Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio.
Readers of this website should be fairly familiar with the Lodgy MPV – we posted an article when Superstar Hrithik Roshan was gifted with the Lodgy Stepway MPV by Renault India. Alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, optional leather seats, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, roof-mounted second and third row AC, cruise control and a touchscreen Media NAV system that will be seen on the top-end RxZ variant.
The Lodgy will be available in both, 85 PS and 110 PS states of tune.
The Lodgy MPV will be offered in the 85 PS and 110 PS version of the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder dCi diesel engine. The 85 PS churns 200 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission while the 110 PS makes 245 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 85 PS version offers 21.04 kmpl and the 110 PS version returns 19.98 kmpl, as per ARAI tests.
As far as the safety is concerned, the top-end RxZ variant gets a dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, rear view camera and parking sensors and central locking.
