Renault Lodgy Stepway makes first appearance in India, Hrithik becomes First Owner

Renault India’s upcoming MPV, the Lodgy made its public debut at Star Guild Awards for the first time in its Stepway version. At the event, the company’s brand ambassador Anil Kapoor unveiled the MPV along with Mr. Sumit Sawhney, MD and CEO, Renault India. Mr. Sawhney presented the keys to Superstar Hrithik Roshan and thus, he becomes the first owner of Renault Lodgy in India.

The Lodgy Stepway variant was first showcased at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, and will be the top-end variant with loaded features and exterior upgrades for a rugged look. It gets special ‘Stepway’ badging on the doors, silver skid plates at the front and rear, black plastic cladding at the sides along with black door handles as well as B & C-pillars, and rides on 16-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Stepway variant gets new upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control as well as a host of other features and components, from the Duster which is already on-sale in India. Although nothing has been so far revealed by the car maker about engine specifications, but is expected to receive 1.5-litre 4-cylinder dCi diesel engine in 2 states of tune – 85 PS and 110 PS.

The Lodgy is expected to be launched by March-2015 in the India market with the price ranging from Rs. 7 lakh to 10 lakh. Once launched, the Lodgy will directly compete with the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Enjoy, Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio.
