So, Renault India has decided to release the first-ever picture of the Renault Lodgy MPV in its India-specification. The vehicle’s name is derived from the English word ‘lodge,’ and refers directly to the model’s ability to comfortably accommodate a family and its luggage. In India, the Lodgy MPV will take on Honda Mobilio and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Renault Lodgy launches in India early next year.
The people carrier, the sixth model in the company’s lineup, will be launched in early-2015 and pricing is expected to be at par with competitors, which is in the range of Rs. 7 – 10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Renault Lodgy is likely to be powered by the 1.5-litre diesel engine seen on Duster, but could be detuned a bit. And press note released by Renault India reads that the Lodgy will “deliver best in segment performance”.
The company isn’t saying much about the upcoming vehicle, beyond the point that the 4.5 metre-long Lodgy promises a roomy interior catering to everyone on board, even third-row passengers, as well as an exceptionally large boot. More on it when the launch nears, undoubtedly!
