The Japanese automaker Honda is continuously revealing some information in different parts of the country. Honda unveiled the 2014 Honda Jazz in Japan after which the Honda’s Subsidiary in Thailand also updated its hatchback Honda Brio celebrating two years since its launch. After these couple of information revealed by the different subsidiaries of Honda, Honda Indonesia had also released teaser images of Honda Brio MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) Concept which showed the front and rear sketch of Brio MPV. Now the Honda Brio MPV has been confirmed for the 2013 Indonesian International Motor Show (IIMS) which would take place this September.
As already read by our dear readers at BharathAutos in our previous posts, the all new Brio MPV was expected to feature Honda Brio at the front along with the traces of the all new Honda CR-V at the rear. After having a glimpse of the official pictures of Brio MPV released a couple of weeks ago, the Brio’s headlight and the overall body shape are expected to be retained in the all new Honda Brio MPV.
The Brio MPV looks as if it is a Maruti Ertiga, with front and some of the body shapes inherited from the Brio. The all new Brio MPV is also expected to compete the likes of the Maruti Ertiga in the Indian and Indonesian market where the car would first go on-sale.
As per the information obtained from Oto.Detik.com, Mr. Jonfis Fandy, head of marketing and after sales, PT Honda Prospect Motor said that “It will not be a mere unveil but a launch. The Indonesians can order their Honda MPV starting from the IIMS 2013. However, the deliveries are expected to begin only by early 2014 as the new plant is yet to become fully operational.” The all new Honda Brio MPV is expected to be launched in the first half of 2014 in the Indian market.
