The Japanese automaker Honda is continuously revealing some information in different parts of the country. Honda unveiled the 2014 Honda Jazz in Japan after which the Honda’s Subsidiary in Thailand also updated its hatchback Honda Brio celebrating two years since its launch. After these couple of information revealed by the different subsidiaries of Honda, Honda Indonesia has released teaser images of Honda Brio LMPV (Low Multi-Purpose Vehicle) Concept which shows the front and rear sketch of Brio LMPV.
At the front, Honda Brio LMPV would look similar to Honda’s hatchback Brio whereas it is expected to feature BMW X3’s design at the rear. Honda Brio LMPV would compete the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in India; in fact Honda Brio MPV will have a ground clearance of 185 mm, same as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Honda is also expected to price the Brio LMPV aggressively as they have already priced the Honda Amaze against the Maruti’s Swift Dzire. Honda would unveil the production model of Brio LMPV at the Indonesia International Motor Show on 19th September, later this year.
Coming to the technical specifications, Honda Indonesia would power the upcoming Brio LMPV with a 1.5-litre petrol engine which produces a maximum power of 98 BHP at a maximum torque of 140 Nm coupled to 6- speed manual or CVT autobox transmissions.
In India, Honda Brio would be available in 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. The 1.2-litre petrol engine would produce a maximum power of 116 BHP at a maximum torque of 148 Nm whereas the 1.5-litre diesel engine would produce a maximum power of 100 BHP at a maximum torque of 200 Nm. Apart from this, Honda Brio LMPV is expected to have spacious interiors.
