2013 Nissan Micra Active – FrontView
Alongside the 2013 Micra facelift, Nissan India today launched the much-talked base model of Micra, christened ‘Micra Active’ surprisingly prices start at Rs 3.5 lakh. Competitive price for Micra Active has been achieved through design & feature optimization, making the car more accessible for buyers. Compared to the outgoing Micra base variant, the Micra Active’s overall vehicle weight has been reduced by about 30kg.
The Micra Active will compete with the likes of Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and other B-segment hatchbacks. The company says that the Micra Active is targeted at first-time car buyers looking for an economical drive. And it benefits from highly competitive price, lower maintenance costs and superior fuel efficiency of 19.49 kmpl, without any compromise in the driving experience.
The looks of the Micra Active is different from the all-new 2013 Micra. It’s toned down version, thus, the cost-cutting is evident. The headlights are a giveaway and miss out on LED tail lights. Also the bumper design is different, and the alloys have been given a miss. On the inside, note the absence of chrome and features the same last-generation Micra interiors.
2013 Nissan Micra Active – SideView
No diesel option available on low-cost Nissan Micra Active, it only comes powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine developing 67bhp at 5000rpm and 104Nm at 4000rpm. Performance tuning and overall vehicle weight reduction contributed for better fuel efficiency of 19.49 kmpl in Micra Active (not by ARAI).
Four variants are on offer, the XE, XL, XV and XV safety pack. The XV safety pack comes loaded with safety features like Dual airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, immobilizer, speed sensing door locks and central locking. The Micra Active range will come in six different colours to choose from: Turquoise Blue (NEW), Blade Silver, Storm White, Onyx Black, Aqua Green and Brick Red colours.
