Honda Car India’s President and CEO Mr Hironori Kanayama has revealed in an interview given to Times of India that the Next-Gen Jazz will be introduced globally before the Next-Gen City. He stated that “First the new Jazz will be introduced globally. The City, which is a sister model of Jazz, will come after that“.
Honda’s traditional Jazz and Civic has already been discontinued by the company from the sales market in India since it had a lacking diesel engine and it did not support the company financially as well. Honda India will launch the next generation Jazz in the early 2014 which would have an option of both 1.2 L petrol engine and 1.5 L diesel engine which would be first seen in the upcoming Honda Amaze. Next-Gen Jazz would be introduced in a new design platform which would be later shared by the next generation Honda City and the upcoming compact SUV.
Next-generation Honda Jazz would be released in a view of competing the existing leaders in this segment such as Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20 and the Volkswagen Polo by pricing it aggressively. There is much anticipation of how the next generation Jazz would be priced as well as it would be designed which would commence at Honda’s new plant situated in Saitama Prefecture from July this year.
