The Tata Safari Merlin was caught at sight by Teambhp. Tata Motors has plans to launch face lifted version of old Safari called Safari Merlin. Merlin is expected to have various new features. Toady we have shared a clear image of interiors which showcases rather conventional approach by Tata Motors with the Safari facelift.
While interiors don’t attract you too much but the exterior have good piece of design by Tata Motors. Tata’s more mature design adds up chrome finish at front and rear sides. Seating will remain a two plus three plus two affair, with the rear jump seats not a very comfortable space for longer journeys. Engine will remain unchanged with the same 2.2-liter DICOR unit doing duty, producing 140 BHP of power and 320 Nm of torque. Transmission options will be limited to a five speed manual gearbox for now with a 4 wheel drive system featuring a low ratio.
With recent launches of Mahindra’s XUV500 at a very decent price tag, Tata has to play its price of Merlin very competitively. While Tata Merlin looking confident in competitive with Mahindra Scorpio rather than the XUV500.
