On 15 August 2020, the next-generation 2021 Mahindra Thar will be unveiled. The SUV will be unveiled on the official website of the Thar via a live webcast (website which is not yet online). Information on reservations, test drives and deliveries will be shared at a later date.
The 2021 Mahindra Thar is supposed to be based on the Gen3 chassis and looks wider than the outgoing vehicle. It has been spotted with production-spec black alloy wheels in July 2020. Like the outgoing model, the SUV also gets bonnet clamps, grill with vertical slats and circular headlamps. It’ll be available in hardtop and soft top options.
On the inside, the next-gen Thar has a revised dashboard with circular air-con vents and a new centre console that houses an infotainment touchscreen system. It could also get rear front-facing seats. The upcoming 2021 Thar in all could be offered in 6-7 variants.
A 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine which produces 187 BHP and 380 Nm and a 2.2-liter 138 BHP diesel engine could power the new Thar. Transmission options could include an automatic manual and a six speed manual. The 2021 Mahindra Thar could also get a automatic version of the diesel engine.
