Like the previously launched FZ-S Military Green Limited Edition, Yamaha India has yet again introduced a same theme on the new FZ-S Version 2.0.
On the other-hand, is it official or modified? We don’t know yet but looking at the fit and finish, we can say it’s possibly an attempt to boost its sales figure with the ‘limited edition’ moniker, adding that little bit of exclusivity to a tried and tested product from time to time. Keeping in mind the festive season and first anniversary of FZ series version 2.0, this variant might mark the occasion with the official launch in next few days.
This is not the first time the FZ-S got this shade of battle green along with re-worked graphics, earlier too this same colour theme was used, but now alongside the same design pattern the bike gets a additional yellow graphics on the head-lamp visor. The company has been trying to keep its FZ lineup fresh offering such minor refreshments, ever since the launch in 2009.
We expect the changes on the limited edition are only cosmetic and no changes in the powertain. The bike is likely to be powered by the same air-cooled 149cc 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine churning-out 13.1 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm, paired to 5-speed gearbox.
The FZ-S Fi Version 2.0 Military Green Edition was spotted by Amit Kumar Parida at a dealership in Pune, according to him it costs around Rs 2,000/- more than the regular model, nearly Rs 94,000 (On-road price, Pune).
It remains to see, if the FZ-S boots the sales with this military look!
