Skoda Auto has released finer details of updated Rapid sedan for India, the updated Skoda Rapid line-up will include only five variants, four in petrol (two in manual and two in automatic) and one in diesel. The Rapid’s petrol variants are available in Ambition Plus and Elegance trims while the diesel engined version is available in a single trim called Elegance. We predict Skoda has reduced the number of variants to accommodate a 1.2-litre TSI petrol engined Rapid automatic sedan.
Updated Skoda Rapid gets projector headlights
The Rapid Ambition Plus comes with dual-front airbags and ABS, an audio system with USB, aux, MP3, Bluetooth and SD card compatibility, steering-mounted audio controls and 14-inch steel wheels. There’s also an optional leather package available which includes leather seats and leather-wrapped gear-knob and steering wheel. This package also comes with an on-board computer.
While the top-end Skoda Rapid Elegance gets 15-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps and automatic climate control. The updated Rapid will come integrated with new Skoda logo. The point is that the latest logos represent the ambitions of the company and the growth that company would achieve by 2018.
Talking about the technical specifications of the updated Rapid, is the same as before with both 1.6 petrol (AT & MT) and diesel (MT) engines with petrol version delivering maximum power of 77kW (105PS)@5250rpm with maximum torque of 220NM @153-3800rpm and diesel variant has maximum power of 77kW (105PS) @4400rpm with maximum torque of 250Nm@1500-2500rpm.
