October-2013 as turned the month of showering new launches and discounts to both cars and bikes. On this festive occasion, TVS Motors has given two of its hot selling products a mild refresh to keep up with the festive fervour. Both the Phoenix 125 commuter motorcycle and the Apache RTR 160 sports commuter get new paint jobs. But we are damn sure that there won’t be any technical upgrades to both the bike.
On the other hand, the company has removed its slow selling Flame and Jive models from its line-up. TVS might have stopped supplying the models to its dealers some time back but removal from its website officially confirms that TVS has discontinued these two models. In mid-2013, TVS has also removed the information of Apache RTR-Fi from their official website, which was later discontinued from Apache line-up.
Talking about the new color variants of Phoenix and Apache RTR 160, the Phoenix comes with Alpine white shade, while the Apache RTR 160 comes with new graphics plastered onto each of the five single tone paint schemes that include Black, Yellow, Red, Grey and White. However, the white paint shade for the Apache RTR 160 is a new addition, with the colour borrowed from the Apache RTR 180, which is available in two shades: Black and White.
Prices of both these motorcycles Phoenix and Apache RTR 160 remain unchanged. The Apache RTR 160 is priced at Rs. 69,795, while the Phoenix 125’s disc brake-electric start equipped variant is priced at Rs. 53,140 (Both prices are of ex-showroom Delhi). These two new variants will be available at all TVS dealerships across India.
