Kawasaki are preparing to bring back their premium motorcycle, the Versys 1000 by April next year. The Japanese bikemaker has started to accept bookings for the motorcycle across the country. The booking amount levied is upto Rs.1.5 lakh.
Bookings for the first batch of motorcycles will be available till December 31. The next batch will have its bookings commencing from mid-January onwards. As Kawasaki will look to sell the Versys 1000 in limited numbers, bookings will be closed after the target is reached.
Kawasaki unveiled the Versys 1000 at the EICMA show held earlier this year. The bikemaker will bring it here from the CKD route instead of the CBU one. This will enable Kawasaki to reduce the price of the motorcycle.
The Versys 1000 is offered with features like LED headlamps and tail-lamps, digital instrument cluster, adjustable windscreen, front and rear disc brakes and a more padded seat. It comes powered by a 1043cc, four-cylinder engine having 120 bhp of power and 102 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Versys 1000 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 11 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Triumph Tiger 800 and the Ducati Multistrada 1200. A total of 4 colour options will be on offer – Candy Steel Furnace Orange, Lime Green, Metallic Carbon and Spark Black.
