Ford had launched the 2018 Aspire compact sedan for the Brazilian market last-month. The Aspire facelift, sold as the KA sedan in Brazil, is expected to arrive in India on October 04, 2018. Ford launched the 2018 Aspire in South Africa in June-2018, albeit without the top-spec Titanium variant.
The India-bound facelift will be getting the Titanium variant, which will stand as the top trim here. On the exterior, the Aspire facelift gets a Freestyle-inspired bumper with chrome inserts and a new chrome grille. It also gets 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and a refreshed rear bumper.
The interior features a 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard, also seen on the Freestyle. This comes with a SYNC3 system having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include cruise control, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, ABS with EBD, dual airbags as standard (six airbags in top trims), ESP and so on.
As far as the engine is concerned, the Aspire facelift will come in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine will be a 1.2 litre unit producing 96 bhp of power and 120 Nm of torque. On the other hand, there will be a 1.5 litre diesel engine which gives 100 bhp of power and 215 Nm of torque.
The petrol engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel engine will have a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Compared to the Indian model, the Brazil-spec Aspire is longer than the sub 4-metre mark. But the car will be launched as an identical product when it comes to the styling and equipment list.
