Ford India is all set to launch a facelifted version of their compact sedan, the Aspire to the Indian market. The Aspire facelift is scheduled for launch on October 4, 2018. Recently, the car has been spotted at a Ford dealership.
The new Aspire facelift will come with cosmetic changes and some additional features. Changes include a revised front sporting a honeycomb grille, new fog lamps and headlamps, along with a new bumper. On the rear, there is a redesigned bumper and also the addition of reverse parking sensors above the number plate housing.
The interior features a dual-tone scheme of beige and black with a gloss black trim. There is an addition of a touchscreen infotainment system by virtue of which the dashboard has been updated. Additional features include a reverse parking camera, multi-functional steering wheel and a new 3-pod instrument cluster.
Ford will give the Aspire facelift its famed 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Dragon series petrol engine. This engine will come alongside a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine seen on the current model. Both engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, with a 6-speed automatic transmission being offered as an option.
Prices are expected to start from Rs. 6 lakh and go all the way to Rs. 9 lakh. The Ford Aspire facelift will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and the Tata Tigor. With the Aspire facelift, Ford will look to replicate the success of the Honda Amaze facelift in an attempt to grab market share from the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
