Ford India is planning to upgrade its product line-up for the Indian market. The American carmaker will facelift four of its models and keep them fresh amongst growing competition. The four models lined up for an update are the Figo, Aspire, Endeavour and the Mustang.
First on-line will be the Aspire compact sedan heading to our shores in June 2018. The car features a revised front end changes to the cabin being a new dashboard and some tweaks in the suspension. It will be powered by the new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 96 BHP of power.
This engine will also power the Figo facelift, which will be launched in October 2018. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and will replace the 88 BHP giving 1.2 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. Coming back to the Figo facelift, the car will feature the same changes mentioned above on the Aspire.
In early 2019, Ford will bring the facelifted Endeavour here. The Endeavour facelift will come with a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel motor which gives 180 BHP of power and 420 Nm of torque. These figures are for the single turbo model, the dual turbo one will give 213 BHP of power and 500 Nm of torque.
There are rumours that the Endeavour facelift will come mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The Endeavour will be followed by the Mustang facelift launching in mid-2019. Ford launched the Mustang facelift in other markets and the car will have a 5.0-litre V8 engine under its hood.
The current 6-speed unit seen on the Mustang is speculated to be replaced by a 10-speed automatic transmission. With facelifts lined up around the corner, we can expect a boost in sales for Ford. The company recently launched its compact crossover, the Freestyle to the Indian market and are also expected to build a premium hatch based on that platform.
