Our sources hint that Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch 4 new models this fiscal year in the form of S-Cross facelift, updated Ciaz, new Celerio and the next-generation Swift.
Soon after the change in retail strategy last-month, the Ciaz facelift has started road testing, the test-mule was spotted in Gurgaon highway. The model snapped here is probably the Zeta grade petrol automatic, as the car had an automatic gearbox while the DDiS emblem on the side and SHVS badges on the tailgate were missing. Surprisingly, there isn’t any noticeable change on the car’s exteriors, except a new Black body colour.
The top-end variant of flagship sedan from Maruti is likely to get an updated feature list including a auto headlamp, LED projector headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and new instrument console with a larger Multi-Information Display. Another report says that there’s faux wood inserts on the dashboard, kept under covers.
In terms of specifications, the car is likely to remain unchanged from before, including what lies under the hood – the 1.4-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines – all carried over from the existing range. There are rumors that the company will offer a new CVT gearbox instead of the standard 4-speed torque on the upcoming Ciaz and is now testing the same, however, we don’t have solid proof.
