We at BharathAutos now have some real life photos of the all-new 2015 Bajaj Platina 100 ES snapped at the Supreme Bajaj an authorized Bajaj Auto dealer in Mangalore. After all, professionally shot product images may sometimes be different from how the motorcycle looks in real life, so these live photos give us a better idea of how the motorcycle looks like and zooms into the small details as well.
The front visor of the 2015 Platina ES is finished in better aerodynamic shape.
The styling of this ‘Platina ES’ is definitely much better than the current-one. Adding aesthetic appeal to the motorcycle is the new body panels and the exhaust pipe. The stylish new body graphics add a breath of fresh air to the bike. The turn indicators of the Platina ES are the orange-coloured while those on the current-Platina are clear-lens.
The front cowl and side profile at more than one instance, it did remind me of the Honda Dream Yuga! The rear section of the Platina ES is identical to its current model so are the grab rail, however, it is the body coloured one. The two pod instrument cluster too is carried from the old model, but the background colour has changed from black to white.
The wide size front cowl give the bigger bike feel.
The major change in the 2015 Platina ES is the engine, it gets a new 102cc DTSi engine that is capable of producing 8.2 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8.62 Nm of torque at a lower 5000 RPM. The engine is paired to a 4-speed transmission, while the top speed is rated at 90 kmph. The claimed fuel efficiency is 96.9 kmpl (as per ARAI testing), however, expect it to return 80 kmpl in normal conditions.
Stopping power comes from the 110 mm drum brake at the front and 110 mm at the rear. The new Platina ES is available in single variant with self-start as standard and you don’t have an option to choose from like the disc brake, kick start and spoke wheels. The new Platina ES is available in a 3 colours – Ebony Black, Electron Blue and Candy Red.
The side body panel is the major visual change on the 2015 Platina ES.
The Platina ES will be sold alongside the current-Platina, but is priced Rs 4,500 higher than the current top-end model with alloy wheel and self start which is priced at Rs 49,500 while the new Platina ES is priced Rs. 54,000 (both prices on-road, Mangalore). As the price list is already-out, expect the Bajaj Platina ES to make the official launch as early as sometime this-month.
Anyway, we also have a photo gallery of the new Bajaj Platina ES for you to enjoy. Please head on to gallery and enjoy the pictures, after the jump!
