The upcoming next-generation Skoda Superb has shed most of its camouflage, while on a final test in Europe. The company has already released the official sketch and couple of teaser images of its flagship model, ahead of its global unveiling in February 2015 and will be displayed for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show 2015.
2016 Skoda Superb will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show 2015.
Like the new Passat, the 2016 Superb is built on the new MQB platform. The new Passat itself has taken things upmarket with its BMW 3 Series-beating ambitions, and Skoda is following suit. The 2016 Superb will offer even more interior space than the Passat, as it is set to be the longest wheelbase sedan built on the MQB platform.
In India, we expect the 2016 Skoda Superb to stick to the same 2.0-litre diesel unit but with more power. It will offer 170bhp, similar to the Volkswagen Passat. The transmissions are not likely to change; the new Superb will continue with a 6-speed manual and an automatic DSG gearbox. And will be assembled at the company’s manufacturing unit in Aurangabad, which is shared with Audi India.
