Skoda has released a teaser sketch image of the upcoming 2016 Skoda Superb, and I must say since vehicle is yet to be unveiled, this is easily the closest look at the car. Apart from the sketch, the company has also dropped couple of pictures revealing the new Superb’s front-fascia and side profile.
The 2016 Skoda Superb get a lot of its design inputs from the VisionC concept.
The sketch shows the 2016 Superb’s sharp character lines have replaced the ageing-curved design of the current Superb. The front fascia of the new Superb is typical of a new Skoda product with a muscular bonnet and shoulder line, sleeker side view mirrors & the Skoda family front grill, while the logo sits on the bonnet lip. The car will also get DRLs that run along the bottom and outer corner of the swept back headlamps.
The positioning of the DRLs and Bi-xenon lamps are similar to that of the Octavia.
The side profile illustrate a Skoda’s flagship sedan is similar to the current Superb’s dimensions but reports suggest that the new Superb will be slightly longer than the new VW Passat, with which it shares nearly 50 percent of components. Thus, it will offer even more interior space than the Passat, as it is set to be the longest wheelbase sedan built on the MQB platform. Furthermore, the new Superb is also expected to be lighter by around 75 kgs and more luxurious than the current model.

The 2016 Superb will get an all-new interior with better quality and more features. On the inside, the Mirror Link infotainment (which was introduced with the new Fabia) and wireless mobile phone charging are two features likely to be present in the new Superb. Rear legroom and boot space have increased as well. Other details known about the Superb are that a lot of the buttons will scrapped in favour of a touchscreen system in order to reduce clutter on the dashboard.
On the engine front, the 2016 Superb will initially come from four-cylinder 1.6L-2.0L TDI and 1.4L-1.8L TSI engines. Skoda will introduce a plug-in hybrid variant later.
