Nissan’s sister brand, Datsun India has unveiled more information about the upcoming Datsun redi-GO – it will be available in 5 shades (White, Silver, Ruby Red, Lime and Bronze Gray) and an deliver ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 25.17 KMPL which is identical to that of its sibling, the Renault Kwid.
Measuring 3429 mm in length, 1560 mm in width, 1541 mm in height and has a ground clearance of 185 mm. Compared to the Kwid, the redi-GO is taller and has higher ground clearance. Its tall boy design results in good vertical space within the cabin. The redi-GO will be pitted against its cousin – Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.
On the inside, the redi-GO adopts a grey theme and a unique dashboard design with chunky steering wheel and an angular centre console. Noteworthy features include LED daytime running lights on the bumper, air condition, power steering, front power windows, audio system that supports CD, USB, MP3 and Aux-in, and an optional driver-side airbag.
Powering the redi-GO is a 0.8-liter three-cylinder petrol engine used in the Renault Kwid. However, Datsun has not announced power and torque figures of this unit yet. Like the Kwid, we expect it to produce 54 BHP and 72 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual transmission sending power to front wheels. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 25.17 KMPL.
