Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, managing director and CEO of Bajaj Auto, speaking to the company shareholders last week, confirmed the launch of new Bajaj Avenger in the third quarter this financial year probably between October and December period this year.
If earlier reports are believed, the report states that the new Avenger will look more-or-less identical to the existing model, but will be powered by the 199.5cc, liquid cooled, single-cylinder engine powering the Pulsar 200NS, AS200 and RS200. Compared to the current 220cc air-cooled engine on Avenger, the 200cc liquid-cooled engine on the 200 NS spits-out more power and torque.
Signature low-riding position, slim fuel-tank and chrome garnished parts might be seen on the new Avenger as well. Alongside few cosmetic changes, the company might also provide disc brakes at the rear, although it remains to be seen if ABS will be offer.
The FY2015, Bajaj Auto has sold 44,000 units, posting a 9.4 percent growth, which is expected to grow even further once the new model launches between the October-December, 2015.
