Most Awaited Bajaj Pulsar 2012 finally reveals its first look, bajaj calls the next generation pulsar as 200 NS where NS stands for Naked Sport. India’s most awaited bike as stunning new muscular looks and looks just great in red. The new Pulsar is powered by 200cc, which is brand new liquid-cooled, 199.5cc, four-valve, carbureted engine with a new triple-spark-plug system, coupled with a six-speed gearbox. The new engine produces 23.18bhp at 9500rpm and 1.86kgm of torque at 8000rpm. Bajaj claims the new Pulsar 200NS is capable of 0-60kph in 3.61sec and 0-100kph in 9.83sec.
The chassis is a steel fabricated, twin-spar, perimeter type frame, with a rectangular tube-section swingarm, that offers over three times the lateral stiffness of the existing Pulsar 220. It also employs a gas-filled monoshock suspension and under belly mounted exhaust, keeping center of gravity low. The NS comes with petal type disc rotors front and rear, measuring 280mm and 230mm, with 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres at both ends. According to Bajaj, Pulsar 200NS can reach a top speed of 136kmph (we believe its electronically limited) and pulsar 200NS can acclerate to 60kmph from zero in 3.61second and 100kmph in 9.83seconds.
Speaking to media on this occasion K Srinivas, President-Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto said, “Pulsar has now celebrated a ‘Decade of Dominance’ with 10 years of leadership in the Indian performance motorcycle market. The Pulsar 200NS showcases the next leap in technology and design and will set the standard for others to follow. We believe that 2012-13 will be an exciting period where Bajaj Auto will excite customers both here and abroad.”
Bajaj also announced that new pulsar is expected to go on sale by this April and it will be priced under 1 lakh.
